It is a great day to be alive.

It is getting to be late afternoon here in upstate New York. As upstate as the capital region of New York is. I say is, because there are many who emphatically state upstate does not begin until you get north of Glens Falls.

So, let's get back to it's a great day. It is. And every day, everyone should try to find something beautiful about each day. I do. Every day I find something beautiful — even on my worst of days.

I find something beautiful in the simple fact I wake up. A sunrise, a sunset, the soft breathing of my wife asleep at my side. Fighting with my two sixty-plus pound dogs. Feeding Mr. Yellowfish, my African cichlid, whom I do believe is the long lost younger freshwater sibling of a Carcharodon carcharias. The first waft of the aroma of my morning coffee, and the peeling of my morning breakfast — a banana and a navel orange.

See how easy it is? Find beauty in the simple. That is what I do.

Unless, of course, you have a website and a literary empire to rule over. One whose foundation is balanced on WIX — because WIX sux!
